24 minutes total AKA 1 mile AKA 60 calories ( or so)
I am really happy. yeah it has only been three days, but if you knew ME, and how chaotic I can be with scheduling and making routines, that is like REALLY an accomplishment for me right now, especially with my current health issues.
My foot did not hurt as much tonight, and funny enough, browsing twitter on my phone made the time go by really fast LOL.
I decided tonight to try something different for the foot pain issue. I did it barefoot, it says not to, but I did some reading today on my type of shoe wear and have realized the cause of an adult lifetime if hip pain and way I am a chronic ankle roller, and have sprained my foot MANY times just walking.
i walk with most of the weight of my foot rolling on the outter egdes. it is called hyper supination. this leads to chronic foot, hell, ankle, knee, hip and back issues. Since we’ve moved into this house in the last year, those issues have been worse for me, due to increased heavy lifting, load bearing jobs, and some weight gain. the heavier you are the more it becomes a problem, causing plantar fascitis.
i’m awaiting the rebooking for my appointment bwith a specalist to likely be fitted for orthotics.
IN the meantime I’m going to get a new pair of well fitting shoes that will support me better than my worn sneakers, and not cause me to roll over on my ankle as much as sneakers do.
I’m also going to tape my foot for Plantar fascitis instead of Fat Pad Dyndrome, which was what the Dr told me I had. The taping helped a little but the techniques are different, so I’m hoping the differnt style taping will help.

Also I’m going to start stretching my foot before I get out of bed in the morning, gently to loosen the ligaments up, so it won’t be so stiff and sore in the AM.
I’m hoping this, the appointment for orthodics, and being careful, but getting active again to lose some extra weight and better my balance and posture, and I will be able to be pain free again! Bettering the foot support should help the chronic lower back pain, the right hip pain, and hopefully help overall.
I am curious if this “simple” foot issue, could be the cause of the whole spinal/nerve issues i am currently having.
it would be amazing to me if this could be the answer to all these issues!
Anyway, I’m liking the beginning of this routine, and I am obviously an evening exerciser…it makes it easier to do, to take the boy cub to bed, sit and tuck him in, and snuggle for a minute until he passes out and then go do the Gazelle. Since that is working, I’m going to stick with it for now.. perhaps it will inspire me to get him to bed on time more, because I really look forward to hopping on the Gazelle. this is the FIRST time I have even felt this motivated in a LONG TIME.
Anyway. I hope my updates are inspiring someone, rather than boring them I’m going to keep doing them, it’s a great record/reminder for me.
At the very least I hope anyone who has chronic back, hip, knee or foot pain will think about looking into how you naturally wear out your shoes and if improper support, sizing of shoe, or age of shoe is causing you a world of hurt that might not be necessary ( or as bad) if you take care of it.
Apparently cycling is good for less foot strain as well, so I’m hoping that once the weather gets better, and i get a little stronger from the gazelle, that I can maybe start alternating and doing some bike rides for exercise as well. ( though the fat ass to narrow seat ratio is always an issue LOL
